Overall renovation and enhancement of residential garage for popular NHRA racing champion Tony Schumacher. The goal was to create an overall aesthetic that was sleek and bold to match the clients personality and style, while at the same time keeping the space functional for a young family. We used exotic metal laminates from ATI to achieve the look, actually mixing a stainless steel embossed pattern on doors with a carbon fiber on most drawer fronts. We designed the layout to incorporate an existing high end steel tool chest. Above the workbench we skinned the wall with an embossed stainless pattern in black to compliment the stainless embossed pattern of the cabinetry and added a stainless embossed 10 outlet strip.
For increased functionality we installed our sliding door system on the right side wall tall cabinets to conserve space and provide easy entry. Black slatwall was used in some wall sections for open hanging storage of larger items. For flooring we installed our full flake epoxy system in our Graphite finish to compliment the cabinetry. Completing the installation we incorporated enhanced florescent lighting fixtures.
This garage makeover included our Quartsite finish full flake Epoxy/Polyaspartic floor coating system. The client took advantage of his high ceilings by having us to install a professional basketball hoop between the windows. Clear polycarbonate sheet were installed over each window to protect the glass. To create more clearance on the ceiling for shooting hoops we replaced the traditional garage door motors with direct drive systems which are mounted on the wall adjacent to each overhead garage door. We then had the garage door track extended and raised up to the ceiling. Lighting was upgraded with a LumaLinks fluorescent system.
The cabinetry is our new garage line in a Driftwood finish accented in white trim panels between the tall and stacker units, as well as on top of the stacker units as crown. The design also included a series of six large drawers integrated into several of the units for kids storage. In two of the tall cabinets we used section dividers and slatwall to create storage specifically designed for kids hockey equipment. We also integrated the clients central vac unit into one of the tall unit along the right wall to enhance the overall aesthetics.
